#MamaBearStrong

It's almost 11pm and my baby and husband are fast asleep. My own eyelids are growing heavier with each passing moment. "I can't, I refuse to break a promise to myself ." I say to myself out loud (yes I talk to myself, deal with it). So I count myself down from 5-4-3-2... and then I unglue my half-melted butt from the couch and drag my heavy tired legs to the bathroom, where I splash my face with cold water. I must remember that all bodies are beautiful.   It's tough to remember that sometimes, Facebook keeps showing old photos of me at the beach too!... so I meditate, and I ground myself and remember to...

Misconceptions

This woman is 8 Months pregnant and lifting some pretty hefty weights above her head. Be honest, how do these images make you feel? The aforementioned woman’s name is   Leann Ellis , Fit Mom veteran, and she is pregnant with her third child in the photos. Twenty years ago, science had conducted very little research on the eff...

Resolution

If you have a Facebook or an Instagram Acccount, I’m sure you’ve seen the following image: However, despite the cynicism around New Years resolution, I’m still a fan and here’s why.       1.    I love a challenge       2.    And I'm one of those annoying people that always stick to my resolutions. Last year, my goal for the year was to read more books and spend as much time outdoors as possible. At the time I let my life get so busy that I didn’t make time for things I truly enjoyed. Both of my resolutions were revolved around improving my overall happiness. How did I accomplish this goal? Firstly, when my husband and I moved to our new home, we chose not to get Internet or Cable. (My brother still things I’m crazy for living this way.)  Now, after dinner, instead of zoning out in front of a glowing screen, we go for walks together. Instead of lazily scrolling through Facebook for hours on end, we both read. ...
